just go!

One thought stroke me today. I was just lying in my bed and reading a book, when suddenly I realized one very simple thing which I thought I was aware of. You know this feeling? When something obvious becomes… hmm, obvious? Some call it “revelation”. Maybe it was one.

I am the God who moves.

Nothing new, is it? The story of Abraham, who was called to leave his nice home and rich family and promising future, just to go into “the unknown” – a land which he had never seen and a lifestyle he had never tried. The story of David who was called from being a shepherd of a nice flock, spending nice time on green pastures (except for the days when he had to kill the wolves and bears :) ) to first being a bandit actually, hiding in the caves and woods, in order to become a king and live life he had no idea about. The story of Jesus, leaving His home and living among people as one of them. The story of the first church, of apostle Paul… moving, moving, moving.

Psalm 68: Prepare the way for him, who rides on the clouds! (…) As father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing (…). When you, God, went out before your people, when you marched through the wilderness, the earth shook, the heavens poured down rain.

Deut.1: The Lord, our God, who is going before you, will fight for you (…). There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place (…). [HE], who went ahead of you on your journey, in fire by night and in a cloud by day, to search out places for you to camp and to show you the way you should go.

What was so refreshing for me, was the fact, that being in a move is not only a command or a calling upon my life. It is as well something my God does. The state He lives in, if I might call it this way. He is moving together with His people. He is ahead of me to search out places for me to camp. It is Him, who searches them. Every place I am in is the right one for me, as long as He has chosen it.

About sonsanddaughtersofindia

Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, 'Give them up!' and to the south, 'Do not hold them back.' Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth - everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made." Lead out those who have eyes but are blind, who have ears but are deaf.
